Osborne Motors Racing and their impressive looking Serv Dragster fronted for the opening event at the Perth Motorplex looking to kick start the season with a strong showing in the local modified category.

Things certainly got off to a flying start with a personal best 7.96 in the first qualifying session.

"When the crew let me know, it was a sense of great achievement but also relief to get it out of the way early and concentrate on looking for the consistency needed to go rounds in this tough category", team owner and driver Simon remarked.

After the routine maintenance between rounds, the team towed around for the second qualifier, and again were pleased with the result; again lowering their personal best to 7.89 seconds for the quarter mile. This time would stand as the top qualifying time for the event.

The day ended for the team and the Serv Dragster in a very close semi-final.

"To top qualify and make it to the semis in the first event is a solid start, however we will be looking to build on that early momentum over the coming events.

With a number of tough cars still to come into the bracket, we will have our work cut out, but I know the Osborne Motors Racing crew and the Serv Dragster will be up to the challenge", exclaimed Simon.

The Serv Dragster is currently being prepared for the upcoming Goldenstates Championships at the Perth Motorplex on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November.
